Live to Ski, Race to Live. There is nothing i would rather be doing than getting up at the crack of dawn and going skiing. There is something in the air that you can feel, waking up at 5:30 the morning of a big race. The cold air rushing against your cheeks has to be one of the most satisfying things in the world. When your in the starting gate, visualizing each element of the course, everything else just melts away. You become one with your skis, and suddenly it’s you against the timing system. The wand on the front of your shins begins the feeling of flying. And while your shredding down the course, ripping into gate after gate, you are doing just that; flying. Regardless of the weather, whenever possible, you can find me shredding a course. Me and frostbite are old friends, and cold no longer phases me. No two courses are the same, no two runs on a course are the same, and that is partly why ski racing is so rewarding. You must always be aware, and you must always be ready to make a split-second adjustment.
